What is Rose Quartz?

Part of the Quartz family, this crystal is found in shades of pink, usually translucent, some material is transparent. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, allowing it to take a good polish, showing off it's vitreous lustre. 

Rose Quartz main deposits are found in Madagascar, Brazil, India, the United States, but there are smaller deposits around the world. It forms in masses and not prismatic crystals, which is why you do not get raw points, but many beautiful shapes and carvings.
