Bronzite was so named after its submetallic bronze lustre. It is a combination of iron, magnesium, oxygen and silicon. Giving rise to browns, grey and sometimes black colours in its make up. The metallic lustre means this material can be confused with pyrite and hematite.

It has been found on every continent on the planet, and even on rocks from outside of this world! Yes, meteorites have been found to contain Bronzite! Making it a special mineral indeed.
