Why do I need Smoky Rutile?
Smoky Quartz is a strong grounding and anchoring crystal. It protects us from negativity and relieves fear and depression.
It does this by protecting us from negative thoughts bringing a calmness to the mind and allowing acceptance of who we are and letting go of the past and seeing a brighter and more energetic future.
Working with the Root chakra, it teaches us to trust, removing internal conflict and giving clear insight to our desires and eliminating that fear of failure. Wear this crystal to bring calmness and security.
Rutile is believed to intensify the properties of the smoky quartz and elevate your consciousness, guiding you towards the Divine Realms, whilst using the grounding powers of Smoky to keep us close to the earthly realm.
What is Smoky Quartz & Rutile?
Smoky Quartz is a member of the Quartz Family, from Champagne to Chocolate Brown in colour, transparent to translucent, Hardness 7, Vitreous Lustre.
Found in numerous localities around the world, some of the finest materials are found in Brazil, Switzerland and Madagascar.
It is the national stone of Scotland, with varieties called Cairngorm Quartz, found in the Cairngorm National Park.
Rutile are the natural, needle inclusions seen in Rutilated Quartz, they are made primarily of titanium dioxide. They can be golden, red, copper or silvery in colour depending on the amounts of iron oxide in the mix, and also any thickness or orientation. Some special pieces have rutile star growth when the needles cross over in a 6-rayed star formation.
